Art
Art is offered to all K-12 students as an opportunity to be creative in God’s image.
Class meets once per week for 20-45 minutes, depending on grade level.
Elementary Piano
4th graders will receive a full-year of comprehensive piano study, designed to teach students to the layout of a piano keyboard, notes on the grand staff, intervals, scales, chords, keys, time signatures, and basic musical signs, terms, and theory.
The class prepares students with prerequisite knowledge for 5th grade percussion and secondary music, and lays a foundation for church worship ministry and music performance.
Percussion
5th graders take class percussion, where they learn the basics of snare drumming and mallet percussion. Students will learn the essential drum rudiments, all major scales on marimba, and how to tune timpani. They will also learn several solos throughout the year, performing both individually in class and with ensembles at the annual showcases.
