Secondary Fine Arts

Choir
Choir is offered to secondary students as an elective. Choir may sing in occasional chapel services, perform in annual showcases, and compete in TAPPS Choir Competition in the spring.

Pursuit
Pursuit is for high school students desiring to develop their musical gifts by leading their peers in the pursuit of God through chapel worship.
Students will audition to either sing, play an instrument, or run the technology for all secondary chapel services.

High School Theater
Theater is offered as an elective to both 8th grade (for high school credit) and high-school students. Students perform powerful dramatic presentations in secondary chapel services, compete in TAPPS One-Act Play Competition, and perform in our spring production, which is comparable to any large school’s in the area.

 

 

Percussion
Middle School: 6th-8th grade students

will continue their musical journey by increasing speed and ability to sight-read. They will master and memorize all essential drum rudiments, all major scales, and will be able to adequately tune and sight-read on timpani in preparation for high school drumline. Students will also perform with percussion ensembles at the annual showcases, and some may also be selected to participate in the TAPPS Solo & Ensemble Competition.

High School: Drumline is offered to secondary students by audition only as an elective. Students will be challenged with rigorous material, playing both high school and college-level cadences. Drumline will perform at various school sporting events and functions, annual showcases, pep rallies, and at the spring TAPPS Drumline Competition. Some students may also be selected to participate in the TAPPS Solo & Ensemble Competition.

Band


Band is offered to secondary students as an elective. In this course, students will master their instrument of choice through daily practice, sight-reading, tuning, ensemble work, and solo repertoire. Band may perform at school sporting events, pep rallies, annual showcases, and graduation. Some students may also be selected to participate in the TAPPS Solo & Ensemble Competition.

Art
Art is offered to all K-12 students as an opportunity to be creative in God’s image.

Class is offered as an elective to all sec

ondary students, who present work at the annual showcases, and compete in various art competitions such as MACS, TAPPS, and the Ft. Worth Stock Show & Rodeo.
