Madison Davis Week
November 17-21
Madison Davis, daughter of NCA teacher Mrs. Christy Davis, started attending Training Depot when she was two years old. At the age of four she was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma--cancer of the muscle. She began treatment and responded very well. She was able to start Kindergarten at NCA while in remission.
During Kindergarten, Mrs. Slaughter was her teacher and that is the year Madison accepted Christ. During the first month of Kindergarten, her cancer returned. She fought hard, attended school and church, and even played T-ball during her fight with cancer. She responded very well again and was declared in remission again by the end of her Kindergarten year.
She entered her 1st grade year at NCA and by the second week of school, she had to fight against the cancer once again. She still stayed in school and fought hard until the end. Madison went to her heavenly home on November 29, 2010. Madison's fight, willingness, attitude, and love for God have left a significant impact on others.
The NCA school board proclaimed in 2009 that the third Friday of November would be named an annual celebration of Madison Davis Day.
Each year, we raise funds throughout Madison Davis Week in honor of Madison to raise awareness and give back to others by donating to cancer research and/or blessing a family affected by cancer. Here are this year's opportunities to raise awareness and funds:
- Monday, 11/17 - Jeremiah's Ice will be on campus from 12-2pm. Secondary students can purchase during their lunch. Elementary classes will go down with their teachers to make their purchases.
- Wednesday, 11/19 - Chapel with Guest Speaker, Paulina Sterrett
- Students are encouraged to wear a specific color representing a type of cancer that has affected them or a loved one. Colors can be found here.
- Friday, 11/21 - Fast Food Friday will be Raising Canes.

Madison Davis Day Shirts
We will be selling Madison Davis Day shirts until Monday, October 27. Anyone, not just students, may order a shirt to honor the memory of Madison. Shirts can be purchased here for $20.
Students may wear their new or any previous Madison Davis shirt with jeans or uniform bottoms to school Monday - Friday, November 17-21.
