Welcome to NCA’s Audition Home for this Spring’s production of Mary Poppins Jr.! We’re excited you are here! Please read through this information carefully and we will see you in auditions!!!
Who can audition and when?
Students in Grades 4 – 12. If you’re worried about conflicts with NCA Athletics, we have partnered with Mark Smith, NCA Athletic Director, to make sure all athletes are able to do both if they desire to.
Auditions will be held Monday, January 5th, and Tuesday, January 6th. There is no school on these two days and students will need to arrive at the West side of the building, second portico. Those doors will be unlocked. Students will wait in Room 112 for their audition – please arrive 10-15 minutes prior to your audition time.
How many auditions/roles can I sign up for?
You can sign up for a maximum of three auditions/roles.
Is there a fee to participate? Yes
Main Roles: $100
Supporting Roles: $75
Ensembles/Minor Characters: $30
Audition Process:
Auditions will take place in small groups and will last approximately 20-35 minutes. Actors are to come prepared with their lines, songs, and dance steps memorized as much as possible specific to their audition. Be prepared to speak loudly and clearly. We are looking to cast about 30 actors.
Audition Reminder:
Auditions are meant to be a learning and skill-building opportunity. For some, the audition process can be intimidating, but this experience is meant to be enjoyable, not stressful. Please have fun and step out of your comfort zone.
Commitment:
The following outlines the commitment necessary to participate in “Mary Poppins Jr.” Once a role is offered, a contract will also be provided.

- Performers must be available to rehearse from 7:00am-9:00am on weekdays. There may be one or two Saturday rehearsal days along with a rehearsal held on a “No School” day. Not every cast member will be required to attend every rehearsal.
- No Rehearsals during Spring Break (March 16th-20th).
- Performers MUST be present for ALL days of Tech Week:
- Monday – Thursday, April 20th – April 23rd.
- Performers MUST be present for ALL performance dates:
- Friday – Saturday, April 24th-25th.
- Being part of a production is a commitment for both the young actor and family.
Key Dates to Remember:
- Audition sign up deadline: Wednesday, December 31st, by 5:00pm
- Audition notification email: Sunday, January 4th.
- Cast announced: January 9th.
- Rehearsals begin: Monday, January 12th.
